Cloudification 101 Workshop can be offered with the focus on one of the following Cloud providers of your choice:

  • Amazon Web Services – AWS

  • Duration:
  • 1 or 2 days training depending on agenda and desired content intensity

  • Agenda:
  • Introduction (History, Evolution, Concepts and Basics)
  • Compute (Right-sizing, Autoscaling, provisioning)
  • Storage services (Types and use-cases)
  • Cloud Networking (VPC/Gateways/Load Balancing/Firewalls/Peering/VPN)
  • Security (Practices, 2FA, Bastion, DevSecOps)
  • Managed services, PaaS and FaaS (Kubernetes, DBs, Serverless)
  • Plan for failure (DR/SLA/SLO/MTTR)
  • Reliable != Expensive (Practices with $ in mind)
  • DO’s and Don’ts
  • Wrap up (Q&A session and discussion)

  • Containers & Kubernetes

    Containers & Kubernetes training can be offered as a 3 or 4 days workshop and optionally includes 1 day Docker deep-dive

    Duration:

  • 3 or 4 days depending on agenda and optional Docker module

  • Agenda:
  • Introduction, Kubernetes components
  • Accessing Kubernetes API
  • Service Accounts, Role based access control (RBAC)
  • Containers, Pods, Init containers and lifecycle probes
  • Deployments, ReplicaSets, StatefulSets. Rolling updates and rollbacks
  • ConfigMaps, Secrets and when to use them
  • Resource requests & limits and how they affect Pod scheduling
  • Connectivity between Pods, CNI, CoreDNS
  • Kubernetes database, etcd
  • Services, Endpoints and Ingress
  • Storage classes and CSI
  • Persistent volumes and Persistent volume claims (PV, PVC)
  • Monitoring and logging for applications
  • Wrap up (Q&A session and discussion)

  • Helm & Istio for Kubernetes

    Helm & Istio for Kubernetes is a 2 days training that requires at least few month of prior practical experience with Kubernetes. The workshop can also be split into two 1-day individual workshops (Helm + Istio)

  • Helm charts, repositories and requirements
  • Helm deployment strategies
  • Advanced features, release testing
  • Helm in practice, DO’s and DONT’s
  • Introduction to service mesh
  • Installation and architecture of Istio
  • Traffic Management with service mesh
  • Zero trust networks, security with service mesh
  • Istio policies and telemetry
  • Service mesh in the real world
  • Wrap up (Q&A session and discussion)

  • Format:
  • Theory with practical examples and Demo-s
  • Hands-on labs with assignments (to be completed during the training)

  • Advanced Openstack Administration

    Advanced Openstack Administration training can be offered as an intense 3 or 4 days workshop that includes practical assignments.
    Participants will gain in-depth knowledge about Openstack Architecture, all major components and Openstack troubleshooting.

  • 3 or 4 days depending on agenda and services covered

  • Agenda:
  • Introduction (History, Evolution and main Concepts)
  • Architecture (Components, APIs, and use-cases)
  • Identity (Keystone)
  • Compute (Nova, Libvirt&KVM)
  • Storage (Glance, Cinder, Manila, Swift)
  • Networking (Neutron, Openvswitch)
  • Further services (Barbican, Designate, Heat, Ceilometer)
  • Debugging Openstack
  • Release Upgrades
  • Openstack community
  • Wrap up (Q&A session and discussion)

    3000 € per workshop/day with unlimited participants;
    3500 € per workshop/day with virtual lab environments
    for hands-on training for up to 10 participants;

    Onsite delivery subject to desired location and can introduce extra costs
